2025 Highlights

One of my favorite year-end rituals is reviewing my writing for the year and seeing which pieces resonated most with readers.

It’s especially interesting for me this year, as 2025 was a year I pushed further out of my comfort zone than ever before. I began the year in Asheville, NC, in the midst of a nomadic life where I couldn’t tell you where I’d be more than two months ahead. I end the year settled in Santa Fe, NM, feeling remarkably at home in a state I’d spent all of five days in before this year.

Along the way, I have experienced remarkable growth and transformation – professionally, personally, and spiritually.

Here are some of the top posts from 2025.

A Love Story

My time in Santa Fe began with housesitting for five felines. My time with them gave me a new perspective on love and has shifted how I show up in the world.

Leading With Love

Perhaps inspired by my experiences with the cats, this post reflects on my deepening experience of leaning into love. This week, I spent time rethinking my values and realized that many of the values I hold dear are rooted in Love. If I embrace a loving way of being, so many other things that matter to me follow naturally as a result.

Colorado

As I re-read this post, I was surprised to realize I wrote it after my first week in Colorado. I spent a total of five weeks, and there was much more to share. But my first week was packed with memorable experiences.

Management Fundamentals

Recently, I concluded a coaching session with a long-term client and, as I often do, told him I’d send a blog post I’d written on our topic. His response was, “You have a lot of really great content!” I felt proud to hear that.

This post is an anthology of many of those posts, and is the post most worth bookmarking for future reference.

Rest

In May, I acknowledged my own need to rest. Not physical rest, but taking a break from my weekly writings. That short post resonated with many of you. And it’s safe to say the rest was warranted, because my inspiration has returned.

From Operational to Strategic

A common theme I’ve encountered among leaders is a desire to shift their mindset from operational to strategic. That theme emerged stronger than ever this year, and this post is packed with strategies that can help build your strategic thinking muscles.

Navigating Troubled Waters

In early February, many of us were reeling from recent events. Many of us still are. In this post, I shared some of the ways I was coping with the stress and uncertainty.

The Master and His Emissary

In my neuroscience and coaching program, I loved learning about the brain’s left and right hemispheres and strategies for integrating them. Over the summer, I had an experience that shed new light on my progress (or lack thereof) towards integrating the hemispheres. This post tells that story.

The Story of Doug

A client realized they were setting a pace so fast that their team could not keep up. This reminded me of Doug, a running partner who had a gift for setting the pace fast enough to push me without leaving me behind.

The Best Week of My Life

I was delighted to see that last week’s post, in which I shared my experience with silent meditation, resonated with so many of you. I hope it inspires you to take another step along whatever path nourishes your spirit.

Walkabout Update

This post was a bit prescient. Upon arriving in Santa Fe at the end of April, I took time to share a detailed update on my nomadic journey to date. It seems fitting that I did so, since Santa Fe ended up marking the end of my nomadic way of life (for now, at least). This was one of my most popular posts of all time. May it inspire you to step out of your comfort zone in whatever way feels authentic to you!
